Motion diagrams follow the character's facing direction. Button colors remain consistent across the full roster; “Variant” rows inherit the parent move's input.
Mobile close-range pressure
Spider-Man is a well-rounded pressure fighter whose short grounded reach is offset by multi-angle Web Zip movement, projectiles, and strong high-low pressure. He becomes much safer and more consistent when an assist covers his approach.
Starter game plan
- Use Web Shot or a covered Web Zip to approach without gambling on Spider-Man's relatively short normals.
- Once the opponent blocks, threaten held Heavy for an overhead or the Heavy Arachnid Assault low, then confirm either side with an assist.
- Prioritize a wall break early because extra assists improve Spider-Man's neutral conversions, pressure, and combo stability.
Key tools
Learn every grounded and aerial angle. Raw Zip Kick is punishable, so cover the travel with an assist.
Vary the grounded and aerial angles, then call an assist late enough to confirm a hit or continue pressure on block.
The second hit becomes an overhead; pair it with Heavy Arachnid Assault's low for a direct high-low choice.
A counter with startup rather than an instant reversal; use it against a read, not a gapless mix-up.
Lab note: Uncovered Web Zip approaches can be anti-aired, and several conversions need an assist. Track assist availability before committing to movement or pressure.
