Motion diagrams follow the character's facing direction. Button colors remain consistent across the full roster; “Variant” rows inherit the parent move's input.
Counter-zoning and set-play
Doctor Doom combines projectile-nullifying defense, broad laser coverage, and an unusual step dash that creates ambiguous assist-backed side switches. He can zone, defeat opposing zoning, or hand a prepared laser to the next teammate.
Starter game plan
- Use Nullify Shield when a projectile lane is predictable, then answer with Auric Ray or a covered forward approach.
- Pair the step dash with an assist so the opponent must track both Doom's landing side and the assist timing.
- At the wall, place a persistent laser or Mystic Cage, then tag to a teammate who can mix while the setup holds blockstun.
Key tools
Erases projectile pressure and gives Doom a foundation for anti-zoning rather than a conventional fireball trade.
Large laser coverage for neutral and tag setups; enhanced routing can convert a distant hit into a full combo.
A cross-up-capable advancing Skill that also helps Doom challenge predictable zoning, but is reactable when used naked.
Extends Doom's unconventional movement and lets him vary when or where the step-dash approach ends.
Lab note: Doom's visible cross-up Skill is not a mix-up by itself against a prepared player. The ambiguity comes from assists, flight, and layered projectiles, so avoid isolated full-screen commitments.
