Spend the Blessing to Change the Question

Black Panther wins by moving through the gap instead of waiting for a perfect button: use Bast's Blessing to alter the approach, then convert a normal into Predator Arts or a wall route.

Pre-release and caption note: The Premixre guide was recorded during the beta on July 27, 2026. Its automatic captions sometimes call Black Panther “Shinnok” or “Shuri”; the move names below follow the official command list. Resource recovery, exact movement windows, and frame claims remain to be confirmed.

Black Panther is a movement character before she is a button character

Black Panther has strong conversions, but the guide's central lesson is to use her movement resource to create the opening. Bast's Blessing can send her backward, upward, or forward, including in the air. The choices let her leave a projectile lane, alter a jump timing, or arrive behind an assist instead of taking a normal approach every time.

Start with a small resource loop:

  1. Spend one movement option to cross or retreat from the current lane.
  2. Call an assist while the movement is active.
  3. Touch the opponent with a normal or Spear of Bashenga.
  4. Convert into Predator Arts or a wall route, then look for a safe recharge window.

Do not empty all four bars in neutral. The source emphasizes that the resource is difficult to refill and that charging leaves Black Panther open after a brief armored startup.

Bast's Blessing changes where a normal can start

Use the movement options for different jobs rather than treating them as four extra dashes:

  • Forward movement: close a projectile gap or move behind a shooting assist.
  • Backward movement: bait a button, create space for a spear, or avoid an assist.
  • Upward movement: change the height of the approach and threaten a jump-in.
  • Air movement: alter the landing side or continue a combo after a launcher.

The movement can be chained, but the guide recommends preserving at least one option. Practice the same normal after each direction so the resource creates a recognizable hit-confirm instead of a scramble.

Use Spear of Bashenga to make the movement matter

Spear of Bashenga is Black Panther's projectile and a useful way to contest assists or cover a backward air movement. The guide prefers an instant air-dash-back spear because it gives her a projectile lane while making a direct chase harder.

Standing Heavy and crouching Medium are the practical grounded starters. Standing Heavy reaches far and can cancel into Skills or the movement option; crouching Medium confirms from a lower profile. Jumping Heavy is a reliable overhead-style approach, but do not let it replace the movement resource—the source warns that Black Panther's buttons can be whiff-punished when used without a timing change.

After a wall break, the beta guide likes an enhanced spear to keep the opponent in a follow-up. Treat that as a testable post-wall option, not guaranteed advantage until the live build confirms it.

Predator Arts is the first pressure tree to learn

Predator Arts supplies Black Panther's practical low and overhead branches. The medium follow-up is the low, while the heavy follow-up is the overhead; the light version is useful for ending or changing the sequence. The resource cost and visible stance make assist coverage important.

Practice the pressure in this order:

  1. Confirm Standing Heavy into the light route and block afterward.
  2. Add an assist before the Predator Arts stance so the opponent cannot simply mash the stance away.
  3. Test the low and overhead branches separately against random guard.
  4. Convert each hit into a wall route before adding Vibranium Daggers.

The source explicitly warns that a naked stance can be hit twice by a fast down-Heavy. If there is no assist cover, respect the gap and reset rather than forcing the overhead.

Build a meter-light route before the flashy install

SituationFirst route goal
Crouching Medium / Standing HeavyPredator Arts → stable air pickup
Spear hitAssist → normal confirm; preserve movement resource if possible
Predator Arts lowOne wall-carry route and a safe ender
Predator Arts overheadConfirm into the same pickup, not a new resource-heavy route
Vibranium DaggersUse after the basic route is stable; reserve it for a real setup
Heart-Shaped HerbInstall when the extra movement and meter can close the round

Black Panther's official Combo Challenges already teach poke, Unique, Skill, assist, air, and install routes. Learn one route without spending a bar, then add a single enhanced Skill. This keeps the character's scarce movement resource available for neutral.
